The Cardinal and Sister Carmine

These two are part of Aberrant Games' Rezolution and are part of the Mercenary faction. Maybe it's the residual conditioning from a Catholic education, but I love these two figures. Lot's of character and menace, all dressed in the comfort of the cloth.

When I got these two I initially had a vision of having them on stained glass bases, and attempted that with cut green stuff tiles. It looked horrible, and I ended up mounting them on regular bases. Sister Carmine is heavy and her axe makes her a little precarious, so I mounted her on a metal base to add some weight, with green stuff surfacing. The Cardinal is mounted on a plain plastic base with some early green stuff tiles. Early as in I made the base a couple of years ago and am finally using it. At the time I made it, I was very happy to have pulled it off. Now it looks like a pretty rough attempt. In general I think I've decided to buy decorative bases instead of making them. The only ones I've made I like so far are for the Infinity miniatures.

For some reason I had a really difficult time photographing these, especially Sister Carmine. Depth of field, color, everything kept being off, so...not the best end results, but hopefully good enough to show them. I may go back and try again at some point. Until then, check them out!

Corporate Assassin

Here is Reaper's Corporate Assassin from their Chronoscope line. She was a fun quick mini to paint up, and I plan to pull her into cyberpunk style games.

Reaper Lysette

Lysette as an icemage

and Hello again!

I know it's been forever and a day since I've been able to do an update. I could list the many reasons that have proved to be obstacles, but I will forgo drawn out explanations and get back to sharing some miniatures :)

Although I haven't been giving this blog the love it deserves, I have been still been painting and gaming and life is good. Obviously my main passion are games that revolve around miniatures, but I had the chance to play a few other games. If you haven't checked the card-based game Sentinels of the Multiverse it's well worth checking out. Well balanced, and cooperative, it has some pretty refreshing dynamics and is a ton of fun. I was also introduced to Munchkin which is another card game. Totally cooperative until your friends backstab you to steal the win.

As for mini games, I've been playing Song of Blades and Heroes, Reaper Warlord, Rezolution, and Infinity. I hope to create some battle reports in the near future. I'm definitely a painter over a player so regularly have my hat handed to me, but it's still a ton of fun.

I hope to post some of my latest completed models over the next few days. Starting with this one from Reaper — this is the Bones version.
